Working with FFA Chapters Across the Country

Harmison's Hometown Fundraising is proud to work with FFA chapters all over the country to help them raise money to support their club activities. In today's blog, our Midwest fundraising company dives into what FFA is and how our fundraising services can benefit chapters across the United States.

What is FFA?

"FFA" stands for Future Farmers of America. However, the organization isn't just for students who want to grow up to be farmers; it also welcomes students who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. It is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. Today the National FFA Organization remains committed to providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. The organization continues to help the next generation rise up to meet challenges by helping members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career paths.

Fundraising for FFA Chapters

On the local level, FFA chapters are responsible for raising the funds needed to attend conferences, go on trips and participate in other activities. Harmison's Hometown Fundraising helps and supports a variety of different student organizations, but the FFA Chapters are definitely some of our favorite groups to work with. Here's a testimonial from one of our FFA advisors that we had the opportunity to work with:

"As for Harmison’s Hometown Fundraising: I absolutely loved the organization and professional leadership that the company had to offer to improve our annual fruit sale. The individually sorted student orders was a big hit with all the members and made our sorting and delivery process much quicker. I will continue to speak to other FFA advisors around the State to encourage them to sign with Harmison’s in 2015." ~ Chuck Reece with the Lakeland FFA Chapter

If you're an FFA advisor, or an advisor for another student organization, and are looking for a fundraising opportunity for your students to take on, give us a call at 800-810-0699. Our main goal is to provide organizations with quality products at a fair price, while offering the kind of hometown customer service and personal touch they deserve. 3 Ways to Motivate Your Students During a Fundraiser

Fundraisers are a great way for student organizations to raise money for new equipment, trips and more. Once you have decided on the type of fundraiser you're going to hold, you'll need to figure out how to get your students motivated to sell. In today's blog, Harmison's Hometown Fundraising offers 3 ways to motivate your students during a fundraiser:

1. Host a Pre-Party.

In order for a fundraiser to be successful, the students need to be excited about it. One great way to create that excitement is to host a pre-party or a launch party. At the party, students will be introduced to the fundraiser and the expectations/goals will be addressed. Make sure there are snacks and games to keep them entertained. Be sure to talk about what they will get out of the fundraiser and why its important to get out there and sell, sell, sell!

2. Offer Incentives.

One of the best ways to motivate students to do something is to offer incentives. Students want to know what they will get out of participating in the fundraiser. Sometimes the new sports equipment or getting to go on a trip in the future isn't enough motivation. Consider offering physical prizes that students can earn based upon their sales. Whether you choose to purchase small prizes on your own or use one of our prize brochures.

3. Use Progress Charts.

Another way to motivate students is to set goals and monitor the progress towards achieving those goals. How much money is needed for the fundraiser to be successful? Is there a certain amount of money needed to purchase new equipment? What is the price per person needed to go on the upcoming trip? Use charts that you can fill in to show how much money you've raised so far and how much more is needed. Many students are visual learners, and using visual aids is a great way to keep them motivated.

For all your fundraising needs, choose Harmison's Hometown Fundraising! Not only have we become a success in the Midwest, but we are proud to service customers nationwide. We are committed to providing you, your organization and your community with quality products and customer service. Contact our fundraising company in Missouri at 800-810-0699 to discuss your next fundraiser today!

Raise Funds For Your Sports Team

The school year is in full swing and extra curricular activities are picking up! Sports teams are either gearing up for another season or in the case of football, may already be in full swing. In order to keep those sports programs going for the kids, there has to be money coming in from somewhere. One of the best ways to keep sports affordable for students is by holding a fundraiser. In today's blog, Harmison's Hometown Fundraising explains how we can help your child's sports team out with all their fundraising needs!

What Does Your Program Need?

Sports programs require equipment, uniforms, trip expenses and more! Think about what your program needs and how you're going to pay for all those expenses? Rather than expecting parents to cover the costs, consider hosting a fundraiser. With our help, you can raise the money needed to cover the expenses required for a great season. Here are just some of the sports programs we have helped with their fundraising needs.

Football - Whether it's new uniforms, cleats or mouthguards, participating in a football program can be costly. The costs of summer camp also need to be taken into consideration.

Basketball - Depending on how good your basketball team is and how far you advance in the tournament phase of the season, expenses can increase.

Baseball - Whether you're traveling to an away game or staying home, baseball incurs a lot of the same expenses as other programs.

Cheerleading - Attending cheerleading competitions isn't cheap. In addition to entry fees and travel expenses, you have to invest in sharp looking uniforms, make-up, bows and more!

Wrestling- From wrestling gear to traveling expenses, wrestling incurs a variety of expenses as well.

Golf - Golf balls get lost all the time. In addition to golf balls and clubs, travel expenses associated with golf can be higher than other sports due to the fact that you have to travel to a golf course, not just another school.

Volleyball - From equipment and balls to uniforms and knee pads, volleyball is another sport that can easily benefit from taking advantage of our fundraising opportunities.

Dance - Dance teams often match their outfits to the routine, which means new outfits each year and maybe more than one per year. Fundraising is a great way to make sure the parents don't have to pay for those outfits.
